I thought this was an interesting website. Freerice.com is a vocabulary quiz site that tests you on the meanings of certain words. For each correct answer they will donate 10 grains of rice to the United Nations to end world hunger. Of course it's difficult to amass a ton of rice quickly but it's as good or better than Brain Age...of course I say that because I suck at Brain Age.

Tour of China

Got back from a trip to China now for a couple of days now and I'm feeling a little bit sick from a cold (or maybe it's SARS) but at least the trip was enjoyable. The trip was organized by a group tour that my mom found called Super Vacation (great name) and went around the sights to see near the major cities of China.

Matthew 23:23

I've had this verse stuck in my head lately:

Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices - mint, dill, and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law - justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.

For most of my walk I had the notion that personal righteousness mattered most. That if you followed the rules and made your life right then you'll be in favor with God. And that's encouraged too but lately I've come to appreciate the latter part of this verse. Where the focus is not on individual morality but on the greater issues relating to justice, mercy, and faithfulness.
