Snowboarding and Sundance

Just got back yesterday from Park City, Utah. It was my first time being out in Mormon country but I barely noticed it because I was out for the snow...and there was a lot of snow. Day and night it kept snowing a decent amount but it was not bad as it could have been considering that there was a severe weather warning the whole time we were there. What sucked was the day we were leaving was filled with bright blue skies and a lot of fresh snow.

First day there we rode at The Canyons resort. I thought it was a pudgy version of Mammoth Mountain, not as tall and more wide. It was very scenic with quick lifts and a lot of runs. What was unique was that they built roads for cars through parts of the park so they made bridges for the skiers to go under. The next day we were thwarted by the bad weather. Wanted to go ride at Park City resort but they only had 3 lifts open. Maybe next time.

Our trip landed at the end of the annual Sundance Film Festival. We caught one of their movies called Birds of America. It was a comedy about a dysfunctional family and had Matthew Perry and Hilary Swank. I thought the movie was decent and had a few really funny scenes. I would probably say rent for this one.
