As part of commuting so much, I made a deal with my mom to switch cars to take the more fuel efficient car in the family (this can also be interpreted as the family of Accords, don't ask why we have so many in our family). However, my plan was not to stop there but to sell off my old car so I could buy a fuel efficient car of my own. Then my mom suggested that she would rather take my car and sell the older Accord. So that was how it played out and I am now selling her car.

I just survived my first week commuting to work in Lake Forest from Hacienda Heights. All in all it was better than I thought, especially morning traffic. Don't get me wrong, it is still a long drive. The 40 miles takes me about an hour...each way. Thanks to everyone who suggested different ways to make the commute. To you who are wondering, I chose to take Beach Blvd on surface streets to the 5 and drive the freeway until Bake where I take the rest of the way on surface streets. Keep on rolling.

Farewell to you Irvine apartment.
You who made it fun for me to tell others where you were because you were off Jeffrey but annoyingly difficult to find because the garage numbers don't correspond to the apartment numbers.
You who disconnected me from neighbors on 3 sides but had a problem concealing me because the blinds in my room were semi-transparent.
You who got amazingly hot in the summer and then amazingly cold in the winter.
You who had expensive rent relative to most people around the area but cheap for Irvine.
